The electric car market is growing rapidly in the world, however, it has recently been recognized by the Pakistani people. The demand for the electric cars in the country is still very low as compared to other countries but yes we can predict that by the end of 2025 they will be flourishing big time in Pakistan as well. Because obviously, the future of motoring is Electric cars.
The leading automotive brand when it comes to electric cars, without any doubt is Tesla. Particularly, Tesla model S leaves no chance but to impress you with its technological innovation, and the great news is that this very model 75D arrived in Lahore last month. If you're looking for a " future car ", S model is the one. On your approach, it pops out its rear hidden door handles and welcomes you in. Cool, right? Tesla is the first one to introduce a software which is able to update itself over a WiFi connection which means that on your next drive you’ll come across new features.

The inside of the car is very impressive and you'd be wowed for a while and I mean if not then you must consider anti-depressants(kidding). The seats are very comfortable, soft and better bolstering than the previous models, and one of the stand-out features is the display in the center, a 17-inch touchscreen which is very quick with responses. The glass roof also does a great job as it is fine in the sunlight, the UV ray works nicely and the air conditioning keeps it cool inside. The traffic map is indicated on the widescreen as well so that you can plan your route in advance before leaving to avoid any disturbances. The back-camera has also been upgraded to 1080p since the video can now be displayed on a wider and high-resolution touch-screen which means that the driver can see a clear vision of what situation he has on hand.
The HVAC system is spectacular, you just have to set the temperature and relax, the HEPA filtration system also has an excellent purpose as it makes a delightful breathing environment when you're stuck in a traffic jam that also surrounded by a bad odor. The car is also technologically advanced to deal with all the noises. Therefore while driving you will experience the smoothest drive of your life with the coil spring suspension which is excellent. It encourages you to plow over them without even slowing down, amazing right?
The Headlights are smartly designed and you wouldn't even have to use the high-beam function because the spread of normal light itself spreads widely and perfectly. The 19-inch rims are installed which don't look bad at all. The S model is just as fast as a rollercoaster but instead, there are fewer passengers to scream. You can make the car go from 0-100km/h in just 5.4 seconds. It produces 416bhp and 442lb ft of torque. There's no lag all you have to do is push the accelerator and off you go.

Since the First Tesla of Pakistan, Tesla S model 75 D arrived in Lahore last month. Many questions have aroused regarding maintenance and charging issues of Tesla. As there are no super-chargers in Pakistan to charge Tesla quickly. Only BMW dewan has charging stations in Karachi and Lahore but the fact remains the same that Super-chargers are needed. So knowing this fact, you cannot travel long distance by car. Coming to the maintenance, It requires less maintenance. You no longer have to worry about traditional oil changing, emission checks or fuel filter. The new Tesla vehicles come with the 4 years/ 50,000 miles limited warranty (whichever comes first) and 8 years unlimited mile battery and drive unit warranty. But Still, Tesla recommends an inspection after 12,500 miles, where excess fluid, wheel alignment, and coolant levels will be inspected and if necessary then potential parts will be replaced. But the question is how this is going to happen in Pakistan because there's no service station of Tesla present in the country. The answer is we don't know yet because Tesla is unlike other supercars and because of this reason you cant take the car to any local workshop which is famous for checking supercars. Tesla works differently and therefore you will have to import the part that is damaged or if you need a spare part which is necessary but you cannot mess with its software.
Model S 75D is not cheap, the lower-spec electric sedan starts at around $59,000 and goes up to $145,000 (depends upon features) excluding federal tax credit which is $7500 and additional 3 to 5 thousand state credit. The one which was imported to Pakistan is around $75,000 and after adding customs duty which according to Pakistan custom Tariff 2016-17 is 50% on electric cars the car's cost was around $120,000, which is not really a bad deal. Therefore we are hoping to see Tesla collaborate with the government and local SIM providing company to give better services and make things bearable for Tesla owner in future.
