BMW i8 is indeed the most prominent and progressive sports car of this era. Where “I” in the i8 means electric, it is created up of an entirely new concept which has been formulated by the company, a lightweight car constructed with carbon and aerodynamic design, is the first ever petrol-electric hybrid supercar which has both the advantages of the innovative electric motor and combustion engine that results in the extraordinary drive. The turbocharged, 1.5 litres three-cylinder engine, produces around 228 horsepower and the output of the electric motor can rise up to 140, whereas the overall figure is 360 horsepower. I8 is able to reach 60 mph in the first 4.4 seconds. With the fully charged battery and a full tank of gas, it can travel up to 330 miles, with mpg combined according to the EPA. Which depicts how good the fuel consumption of the car would be.
The standard version of i8 comes with 20-inch
alloy wheels, LED headlights, leather/cloth upholstery, GPRS navigation, power
front seats, whereas the BMW's iDrive
interface comes with an 8.8-inch screen, a head-up display, front and rear parking
sensors, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree view camera system.
This year in Pakistan, we saw numerous imported
BMW i8s in different cities, however a
couple of days ago, the first ever customized BMW i8 of Pakistan arrived in
Karachi, which was imported through Jumbo International clearing agency. This
car was none like others, absolutely different and unique from the standard
version of i8. The customized BMW i8 is emblazoned with the Inferno red done by
MacTac Films, the interior trim looks strikingly attractive as it is completely
covered with carbon fibre. Valvetronic Exhaust system is a variable valve
timing system which offers continuous and precise control over variable intake
valve lift and can also be controlled by your iPhone, the use of it leads to a
better fuel consumption. This i8 is bolstered up with the stealth lights, rims,
and a booster system. All of these features make this car extra vibrant and
aggressive looking.
