Pretty much everyone has heard about BMW ( Bavaria Motor Works ), as it is one of the most luxurious car manufacturing company's, in the world and has been operating in Pakistan since 2004 with collaboration with Dewan Motors. A lot of people prefer to buy BMW cars because of their extraordinary performance and swiftness. The company has already launched it’s 5 series 530i variant this year, along with SUV BMW X1 and X5 in Pakistan, in which people showed great interest due to which now we often see the cars cruising here and there.
Recently, BMW announced that they will be launching, 218i Coupe and Convertible in Pakistan, they haven’t disclosed any particular date yet, but the arrival of 2 series is predicted to be by the end of this year. BMW 2 series is expected to takeover Audi A3, Toyota Corolla, and Honda Civic X as the series is anticipated to be inexpensive as compared to the others.
Leaving it on time whether it affects the sales of its rivals or not.
Engine and Fuel Economy
Let’s talk about its Engine performance first, the BMW 218i possesses 3-cylinder 12 valves 1499cc water-cooled, supercharged engine. The engine is capable of producing 139 breaking horsepower and generate 220 Nm of torque at 1250 RPM.
BMW 218i coupe when accelerates can go from 0 to 60 within 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h, whereas BMW 218i convertible takes 9.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 and has a top speed of 205 km/h.
Now coming to the fuel economy, BMW claims that the 218i can reach 17 km/l and 19 km/l, depending upon urban and extra-urban conditions, similarly BMW 218i convertible is capable of reaching 16 km/l and 18 km/l in same conditions.

BMW has sustained its market in the car manufacturing industry, since a very long time and they are continuously radiating their market share by introducing new and better models. After seeing the overwhelming response by its customers in Pakistan, the company is highly motivated to set up its workshop in the country.
